addressed..... including the possibility of releasing our B-side's compilation and also our plans for our next studio album

Music". Here's what Shirley had to say: "There's no turning back on

GARBAGE ON ESPARRAGO FESTIVAL
June 14th Garbage will be the
heading act, together with Iggy Pop, of the Spanish Festival Espárrago
2002. The festival will take
place from 11th to 13th of July, and more than 4000 tickets have been sold
already. The festival is in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz). Other acts include
Extremoduro, Bunbury, Amaral, Antonio Orozco, Dover, Sôber, Sidonie, Fangoria, and Big
Soul.
This festival is in the same weekend as Portugal's Vilar de Mouros, and on
some years, there are some band swaps, so it would be great if Garbage were on
that festival, what looks difficult... |

 |
GARBAGE AGAINST DRUGS
June 14th Garbage speak against the use of drugs not only on the artistic
environment, but in any environment because they destroy lifes once they're very difficult to control when they become an
addiction.
Shirley Manson, frontwoman of Garbage, band formed in Wisconsin, said they're very sorry about the death od Dee Dee
Ramone, that died on overdoses of drug paraphernalia: "The only sad point of the day was when we learned of the unexpected overdose and subsequent death of Dee Dee
Ramone. What a terrible, lonely end to the life of a legendary man. Let's send our love up to
him".
Garbage are participating on the Ramones tribute album, due out soon. |

 |
EUROPEAN TOUR KICKED OFF!!
June 14th Garbage have once again
proved their professionalism by not canceling a tour due to problems that are
not easy. Even though their batterist, the genious Butch Vig is very ill, the
band will play all their scheudled concerts with The Smashing Pumpkins' and Filter's
drummer, Matt Walker, whos is making a great job! |

 |
EUROPEAN TOUR IN RISK?
June 8th Matt Chamberlain will be
unavailable to play with Garbage on the european tour due to previous
commitments.
According to Shirley: "Seeing as Butch may be well and truly under the
weather for some time, the only options open to us are either to cancel all
remaining shows in Europe thus disappointing thousands of our fans or we find
another drummer to fill in. We have decided to call upon Matt Walker
who we met when touring with The Smashing Pumpkins a few years ago. He's an
incredible player and a super sweet person so hopefully he'll be able to
come and help us out once Matt Chamberlain heads on out of Garbageland into
the divine camp of Ms Fiona Apple."
It is a bit late to cancel a european tour, and, accoring to their record
company, as album sales aren't as expected, there's a lot of pressure on the
european countries that Garbage do play, so let's hope Matt Walker can nail
the songs! |

dinners to people living with HIV or Aids which is a wonderful
thing indeed. |

SHIRLEY ON "THE EMINEM
SHOW"
June 8th "Love love LOVE the
new Eminem CD having been somewhat underwhelmed on first listen but now it's
worked it's way into my heart and I keep playing it over and over. It's like
some old blues/folk record set in a modern context. Dark and desperate but
defiant and jubilant!!!!!! " |
