GARBAGE COVERING RAMONES
April 29th

Garbage will be covering a Ramones track for the forthcoming Ramones tribute album. Although the title is not know yet, Garbage will be going on studio late April / early May.
This is the second tribute album Garbage are participating: the first one was "Fire & Skill: a tribute to The Jam", where they covered "Butterfly Collector".
Garbage have also covered quite some tracks on the studio, like: "Kick My Ass" (Vic Chestnutt), "Thirteen" (Big Star), "Candy Says" (Velvet Underground), and they will also release "Wild Horses" (Rolling Stones) to a TV Show.




SHIRLEY'S OFFICIALLY SICK
April 24th

Shirley Manson has been told to rest by doctors – fearful that her lifestyle 
could be damaging her health. 
The band are set to tour the US and Canada throughout April and May, before returning to Europe in the summer for more dates and festival appearances. 
Singer Shirley Manson told the Daily Record newspaper that she is "officially sick", and has been ordered to rest by doctors. 
She said: "I am now officially sick. I'm on antibiotics and was told to rest. I'm not getting enough fuel and vitamins for the amount of activity I'm doing. With my workouts and the shows, I suppose they could be right."




BREAKING UP THE GIRL FLOPS
April 24th

Breaking Up The Girl  has dropped a massive 33 places to #60 on the latest UK singles charts making it the least successful of the beautifulgarbage singles so far...
(If it drops out of the Top 75 next week
BUTG will be the least successful of all the
singles from the 3 albums - with the exception of the early limited releases like Subhuman)




KERRANG'S COOLEST STARS
April 24th

Shirley is the only woman on the top 10 of 2002's Coolest Rock Stars, according to Kerrang! magazine.
She's on number 9 on this list.
Number one is Marilyn Manson, and number two, Kurt Kobain.




NEXT SINGLE: SHUT YOUR MOUTH
April 24th

Shirley announced on the stage of the London gig that the next Garbage single will be "Shut Your Mouth". 
No release date has been set yet. 
During one of the other concerts in the UK Shirley mentioned that they have recorded a version of "Wild Horses" which is a Rolling Stones cover song, and it will be used on a new TV show.




GARBAGE IN ITALY
April 24th

Garbage will be at the 'Heineken Jammin Festival', in Imola, Italy.
On June 16th, Carlos Santana will be the headliner of that date.
The confirmation is on the site www.milanoconcerti.it .
Prices: 28 Euro for one day, 42 Euro if you want to attend both nights of the festival.
They will also headline their own gig on June 17th, in Milan.




NEW EUROPEAN FESTIVAL IN JULY!
April 7th

Garbage will perform on Seat Beach Rock, 6 and 7 July 2002! The festival will be on the Wellington race track in Ostend.
An advantage of the new location is that the camping is situated on the festivalgrounds. Camping will be possible from Friday 5th at 4:00 PM until Monday 8th of July at 4:00 PM and only costs €9 regardless of the length of the stay.
The tickets are €41 for each day (with a 5 discount if bought before May 15th) or €66 for both days, with free camping and a €12 discount if bought before May 15th.
Other acts on the festival will be The Prodigy, Muse, Jamiroquai, No Doubt, Flip Kowlier, David Morales, Felix da Housecat, etc.




BEHIND THE MUSIC PREMIERE
April 7th

VH1 has started the transmission of the TV special "Behind The Music", from Garbage, in the US.
They showed clips of the videos that have never premiered in the US, like "When I Grow Up" (European Version) and "Cherry Lips." They interviewed people like Billy Bush and Shirley's girl sister Sarah. They talked a lot about Shirley and her past, and
about the guys and how they started Garbage (before Shirley was even in it, you
can even hear the demo instrumental for "Vow").

SECRET GIG WAS A SUCCESS
April 6th

The gig Garbage played in Edinburgh was a complete sucess. Being held just for about 250 people, the set was acoustic, and the setlist was: Special / Vow / I Think I'm Paranoid / So Like a Rose / Drive You Home / Only Happy When It Rains / Breaking Up The Girl / Wild Horses.

Garbage are playing new material on the UK gigs. They are playing for the first time the Version 2. b-side "Get Busy With The Fizzy", and the beautifulgarbage track "So Like a Rose". They also played a cover of the great Rolling Stones track, "Wild Horses". They also played again "Hammering In My Head".

Butch Vig told on MTV Select that there will be a 4th album after the BeautifulGarbage tour. 
Also, for those who saw CD UK, no worries, Steve had some family commitments to take care of, and returned to UK some days after.
