Garbage are playing on the recent australian tour one of 2001's top singles: Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". Shirley had a feature article in a local paper stating she respects Kylie. And she is doing a nice job, but forgot the lyrics at the end.

Maybe an European tour follows UK?

CHERRY LIPS #22 IN UK

Garbage's "Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go!)" enters the UK charts at #22 on this week's rundown. This is one of the lowest UK positions from a Garbage single, but considering the lack of radio play this is actually good news.

However, the web-only release is a version put together by Eli Janney, bass player in highly-regarded US band Girls Against Boys (who already opened concerts for Garbage) and remixer to the likes of Placebo, David Bowie, Blondie and Luscious Jackson.

BAND POSTING ON MESSAGE BOARD

Some of you may have noticed the band has started to post on the message board. YES this is actually band members. How you will know is by the icon next to the name. Only the four band members have the Garbage icon with their photo.

SHIRLEY SPEAKS AGAINST AIDS

The VIVA GLAM IV fundraising benifiting people living with HIV/AIDS will launch in February 2002 with an advertising campaign shot by LaChapelle.
One hundred percent of the $14.00 U.S $15.50 CDN suggested retail price of the lipsticks go directly to the Fund.
Other bands have provocative female singers but none have the attitude, the vocal chops, the look and the creativity commanded by Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson. Outrageous, uninhibited, gifted – Shirley Manson is a riveting presence both on and off stage.
According to John Demsey, president of M·A·C, “After a very long search, we’ve chosen Mary, Shirley and Elton for a number of reasons.  Most importantly, for their deep dedication to supporting The M·A·C AIDS Fund.”  Demsey explained, “Each of these incredible artists has a history of breaking rules, and they have become alternative fashion icons.  Elton John, Mary J. and Shirley are perfect spokespeople for M·A·C because their creative expression appeals to all races, all sexes, all ages.”
As Elton and Mary, Shirley Manson of Garbage is equally excited to be involved with The M·A·C AIDS Fund. “When M×A×C approached me about participating in the VIVA GLAM campaign, I jumped at the chance. Not only because I admire M×A×C and the efforts they have made around the world to support men, women and children who are affected by HIV/AIDS, but also because I see it as a perfect opportunity to put my own public profile to good use for a cause I feel strongly about.”
