“This song is probably the darkest one on
the record. It’s all about those moments when you feel a deep
personal despair. - Shirley
Manson - Rip & Burn magazine, April 2005
“This is probably the darkest track
on the whole record – it’s like a prayer in a way. It’s about
how you feel when you’re really up against it – which we were
with the making of this record. At one point during the
recording, we took six months off – Butch went back to LA, I
went back to Scotland – which is a very long time to be apart
when you’ve spent every second of every waking day for the past
ten years with each other. We weren’t 100 per cent sure we’d
ever get back together again.” -
Shirley Manson, NME
QUEERtrippin asks: In "Happy Home" the line "I never once
in my wayward life was heading to run out" is a beautifullt
written line but I'd like to know...run out of where? A
relationship?
Butch says: Shirley wrote those lyrics and it could be
about something in your life, not just a relationship. The
things that are precious to you, you don't want to leave them
behind. - MSN chat - April 18th 2005 |
